"... It was important to us that the webshop was made user-friendly, while at the same time being affordable to manage for us as a small business."

An urge to renew the visual expression and improve the shopping experience

When Wood Zone contacted us back in 2022 with strong considerations about improving their digital presence on their own platform, we conducted a thorough analysis of their existing setup. Julie, Martin and Benjamin had clear visions of a more structured webshop that was easier to handle on a daily basis, but also had the right visual expression that could support the aesthetic products they produce. In addition, they wanted a significant improvement in speed and the entire purchase flow.

At our first meeting, it was clear that Wood Zone 2.0 would be a complete re-establishment, where we had to start from scratch and rethink the entire structure and design from scratch. And with a solid Jutlandic handshake, what would turn out to be a hugely exciting and inspiring collaboration began.

01

Linking products together

One of the major challenges on Wood Zone's webshop solution at the time was the product structure and lack of clarity in the catalogue overview. Each product was too specific and comprehensive on the category pages, making it difficult to navigate between different product variants.

That's why we decided to link all the products together so that each item number would only be presented as one product, but with the option to select exactly the desired variant on the product page. In this way, we have made it easier for the end user to click around and, for example, switch between "Material & Treatment", where the product image then changes to the relevant one.

This change has resulted in a more structured product catalogue and simplified the visual appearance of the category pages.

02

B2B shop

After the launch of the webshop, the solution has been continuously developed in line with Wood Zone's growth and the new requirements that have arisen. This included the development of an integrated B2B webshop, which makes it possible to connect dealers with individual logins. This way, they can now precisely control discount rates, right down to the retailer level. In addition, the checkout phase has been customised to match exactly the information Wood Zone needs to process B2B orders.

03

Integration to ERP system

At the same time, an automated integration between the webshop and their ERP system became necessary. An important functionality as they wanted complete order processing in their financial system and wanted to minimise manual processes between several different systems.

All orders, whether from private customers or B2B resellers, are now automatically and instantly transferred to the finance system where they handle them from there.

04

English language

To meet the growing demand from international markets, in autumn 2023 we added English as a language option and pricing in EUR on the webshop.
